Richard Francis has over 28 years industrial experience and has been involved in the development of many significant commercial biopharmaceutical products. He has experience of working with diverse product types such as Monoclonal antibodies, Polyclonal antibodies, recombinant DNA derived proteins / peptides, plasmid DNA and Viral gene therapy products. He has developed and managed process development and manufacturing operations in senior management roles at companies such as Celltech, Centocor, GSK, Protherics and BTG. He has had significant experience in the preparation and delivery of regulatory agency submissions principally with USA, Europe and Japanese agencies.

He has been involved in the development and implementation of Quality by Design (QbD) type processes and lifecycle programs. He is a firm believer in the need to develop process and product understanding during development and manufacturing activities. The utilization of this knowledge management is a key business assets and one often not developed to the greatest potential. He is keen to share the core understanding of QbD and best practices for its usage.
